Marlins show great team spirit @ K2 5th June

Marlins sent a mixed team to K2 last Saturday evening to compete in the Gladstone Voller Team relay gala against Crawley and 6 other teams.  The event, a B grade friendly, is designed to give less experienced swimmers a taste of competive relay swimming in a fun enviorment.

Tha Marlins were made up of teaching group swimmers (down to group 5) mini squad, training group and a sprinkling of elite swimmers.

Congratulations to 13/14 year olds Abigal Hosier Alice Peters Chloe Kells and Annabel Curtis who amazingly won the Open fly race.  Max White, Ali Gainey, Matt Dutton and Aaron Knottley took the Open free.  The team even walked away with the Squadrum finale.

Whilst very proud of overal 2nd place (of 8 with Crawley topping) poolside coach Russell Knottley explained ' the key element tonight was the excellent team spirit shown by everyone.  We made a hell of a racket cheering on team mates and marlin chants at the end.  It was an excellent evening for the club and at times we had Crawley worried'

Bowman concludes ' the Marlins are producing some electric performances this year and that team spirit seems to be running right through the club. It all bodes well for our exciting Sussex League finals nite on 3rd of July @ K2'
