| Solid Sussex League Campaign |
|
The Marlins have now completed their 3 gala 2011 Sussex League Campaign and have put in solid performances through out. The final league positions will be revealed after the K2 curtain closer on 9th July. With Brighton taking the title this year it could be 2nd 3rd or 4th for the local club but it reflects a massive improvement on the 2010 showing.

35 swimmers and loads of parents made there way down to Bognor (25th June) to take on Atlantis and Littlehampton. Whilst the atmos might not have been at the same fever pitch as the previous Triangle weekend the whole team can take great pride in a job well done.
Away from their spectacular pavilions home Atlantis must be congratulated on a well run gala and strong performance in the water. It was clear they brought strength and depth taking the gala by a comfortable margin. Their coach of the day said ' we saw that the Marlins had beaten Crawley and our swimmers were really up for tonight. We are very pleased with the result '
Marlins grabbed 10 individual wins during the evening and a couple of relays wins. Ollie continued his progress by neatly taking 4 races. Tom H, David M, Mat G, Clair S and Jodhi G all completed wins.
Coach Paul B said ' the coaching staff are extremely proud of the performances over the 3 gala's. On Saturday swimmers gave 100% and swam with great determination, Well done to Atlantis for a very strong performance !' He added ' I feel the club had taken a huge step forward on its 2010 performance and now lets forward to the National league in the Autumn '
The press officer would like to thank the gala and officials secretary plus all the poolside officials for their time and expertise over the 3 gala's. As usual, everything has worked very well reflecting an efficient and slick performance out of the water. Julia Shaw bowed out of the team managers post and was presented with flowers and massages of thanks from whole club. Well done to Julia it has been really great to share some memorable moments over the past 2 years.
We have taken the big step of beating Crawley this term but swimming in the County is really improving rapidly. Brighton, Atlantis Hastings EG and our K2 rivals are all showing quality all through the squads. As a club, Marlins will need to continue to show improvement and dedication in training and in competition. I am confident that we can rise to the challenges being set and we can look forward to National League (in the Autumn) with ambition and desire to secure promotion !
