play sport stay safe have fun
Mid Sussex Marlins Swimming Club believes that all children involved within the clubs activities have the right to stay safe and have fun. Our aim is to provide quality teaching and coaching in the sports of Swimming and Water Polo for children to develop physical skills, self-esteem, and the ability to be a team player, as well as the opportunity to achieve individual success. We are committed to ensuring that all children who participate in the clubs activities do so in an enjoyable and safe environment and are safeguarded from harm.

Mid Sussex Marlins' Transport Policy for away galas etc.. Please read the Club Transport Policy if your child is asked to attend an away gala or club event and you wish your child to travel on the club coach. To comply with the policy the 'Off-site and Emergency Medical Treatment Parental Consent form' must be completed and returned to the Team Manager or Club Coach before travelling.
Important Notice To Parents on Shared Facilities It is important to understand that both the Olympos Burgess Hill (The Triangle) and the Olympos Haywards Heath (The Dolphin) Swimming Pools have mixed changing facilities. This means that the public will be using the same changing facilities at the same time as club members. It is also important to understand that admission into either building is not controlled. The club can only take over supervision of swimmers once they come onto poolside at the appointed time for their swimming/water polo session and have made their presence known to their teacher or coach. We therefore strongly recommend that parents supervise their child's changing at all times. Other Swimming Pools that the Club uses, such as School Pools, have local differences but mixed changing at certain times may still occur. The same advice of supervising your own child's changing will therefore always apply. Click here for the ASA Shared Facilities Guidance
Video and Still Photgraphy of Young Persons. The Clubs policy on taking and using of Video and Still Photography Images are contained in the Rules Of the Club which all members sign their acceptance of and willingness to comply with when they join the Club. If any member has a concern with any photography activity or the use of any images then please contact me as soon as possible so that I can take appropriate action. Squad swimmers may occassionally be invited by their coach to have Underwater Video Analysis (UVA) of their swimming conducted in order to improve their swimming techniques. This UVA will be on a voluntary basis only and will not possible unless an Underwater Video and Still Photography Release form has been completed by the Parent and Swimmer and returned to the coach concerned. Click here to view/download the Underwater Video and Still Photograpy Release Form and Guidelines. Swimmers Action Plan In the unlikely event of no Coach or no Adult Club Member attending a Club Training Session or Event then we have published a Swimmers Action Plan which is availble is a handy reference card to Squad Swimmers. The swimmers should follow the action plan so that the situation can be addressed as quickly as possible. Sessions that would be more vulnerable to an unforseen absent Coach would be Early Morning Training. The Action Plan assumes no other Adult Member of the club is available to help or supervise the swimmers. If you have lost your SAP card then contact me for a new one. Alternatively you can download and print a new one from here. Richard This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
